ED1 and ED2 Concurrent and Part-Time Consecutive teacher candidates, except Jewish Teacher Education and BEd (French), must complete an online practicum form if they require a practicum placement for the next academic year. Fall/Winter enrolment begins in June, which is too late for our Practicum Coordinator to work with schools to determine the number of placements needed. We need to start the discussions with the host schools earlier, which is why you've been asked to indicate your practicum preferences by the end of March. If you are planning to go on a Stop-Out Year starting September 2010, then you do not need to fill out this form. If you are currently on a Stop-Out Year and are planning to return September 2010, then you must fill out this form. The online form can only be submitted once so please carefully consider the day of the week and the geographic zones you wish to choose (e.g. Zone 1 – Toronto East) before going to the online form. The map for the designated geographic zones for practicum placement can be viewed at http://edu.yorku.ca/bed/Placement_Zones.jpg. All teacher candidates who require a practicum placement for Fall 2010/Winter 2011, must complete this online form by March 31; otherwise, a practicum placement will not be assigned.
