Navigating Course Completion Options
A Course Completion Resources page has been launched by Vice Provost Students with additional resources that can help to understand options available to students depending on courses that are continuing or suspended, as well as important considerations that should be taken into account before making a decision such as taking an assessed grade. Please review these resources for additional guidance.
BEd and BA Educational Studies students who are considering to request the 70% assessed grade option (course work completed and graded) need to know the following.
- BEd TCs cannot request 70% assessed grade for EDPR 2000, 3000 and 4000.
- EDST 4998 – the new BA EDST Certificate – Educational Development.
- If students want the certificate and noted on their transcript (complete the requirements) they cannot take a 70% for ED/EDST 4998 professor Celia Popovic's course. These students have to complete the portfolio.

Finding Voices - Part 2
Exhibition runs from April 2-5, 2024 at Eleanor Winters Art Gallery (WC 129)
Closing Reception is on April 5 from 4 - 6 pm
Finding Voices examines the relationships between archives, technology use, and history classrooms. Taking into consideration current events in Canada, such as the public announcement of evidence of unmarked graves at Indian Residential Schools across the country, activism by Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate, and demands to rename public institutions bearing the names of colonial agents, the omission of racialized and marginalized histories in Canadian education can no longer be tolerated as status quo. Finding Voices combines history with creation, allowing viewers to experience silenced histories in multimodal ways. The exhibition subverts mainstream Canadian history. This exhibition is in collaboration with pre-service teachers in YorkU's BEd program; intertwining historical inquiry and art-making practices to create artworks that rework archival documents and histories to shift the paradigm away from Canada’s construction of the ‘ideal’ history into a history that is complex and non-linear. This exhibition uses Website-based Augmented Reality to allow visitors to engage with and be curious about history.
This exhibition is led by Sheetal Prasad as part of her doctoral research, Finding Voices: Bringing the Archive into History Classrooms.
