Drop Deadline

Awards and Bursaries
All Faculty of Education students are eligible to apply for Faculty of Education awards and bursaries. If you are interested in applying, please go to http://sfs.yorku.ca/services/award_search/ to search for Faculty of Education awards. Certain awards will require additional documents so please read the criteria carefully before you submit an application.

Online Course Evaluations
Course evaluations provide an opportunity for you to give your instructors feedback about your courses. Your input is very valuable to us. It will help improve and enhance student experience and satisfaction in courses. All your input is kept completely confidential and no information is released to instructors before final grades are submitted. For all courses in the FD term, online course evaluations are available until Friday, November 12. Some of the ED3 P/J and J/I quarter courses are in the FD term. The evaluation period for F term courses is from November 19 to December 10. To access the online course evaluations, visit http://courseevaluations.yorku.ca.

Ethics and Legal Studies in Education
In the fall term, each Concurrent BEd Teacher Candidate is responsible for completing the appropriate year of the on-line tutorial during the fall term. The tutorial can be accessed at the Ethics and Legal Studies in Education (ELSE) portal at http://www.ysimste.ca/else/. Teacher Candidates will submit a copy of their final quiz results to their Seminar Leaders by the end of November. (TCs need to achieve a grade of 80% in the final quiz.) Issues from the on-line tutorial will be integrated into the practicum seminars.

Practicum Reports
Practicum reports are not to be faxed/sent to the Practicum Office. It is the TC's responsibility to get a copy of the report from the MT (York is no longer keeping them).

Destination AQs
Graduates have an opportunity to participate in a unique educational travel experience Summer 2011 with York University’s Destination AQs. Offered in conjunction with Georgia Hardy Tours, a leader with 34 years in the education travel industry, these AQ courses and general interest certificate offering are an opportunity of a lifetime. Courses include FSL Part I, 2 and Specialist in France, Visual Arts Part 1, 2, and Specialist in Italy, Dramatic Arts Part 2, Specialist, and Intermediate Basic Dramatic Arts in England, Intermediate Basic Health & Physical Education, Senior Basic Health & Physical Education, Health & Physical Education Specialist (I/S) in Greece, and Environmental Science Part 1, 2, and Specialist in Equador. ESL in Taiwan Program
York BEd 2011 candidates can acquire an ESL Part 1 AQ with an intermediate and secondary focus and the experience of teaching ESL for AYJGlobal in cooperation with the Toronto District School Board’s Continuing Education Department for 3 to 4 weeks in Taipei, Taiwan. Student Survey on International Strategy
The International Education office in the Faculty of Education at York University is conducting a survey for undergraduate Bachelor of Education students as part of a research project in order to understand the needs and interests of students in the Faculty of Education. Information Session for Jobs in Singapore
There are a number of opportunities available to students with BEd degrees working with Singapore's Ministry of Education. The Singapore Ministry of Education has scheduled a recruitment session with York University’s Faculty for Friday, November 5th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the Career Centre's presentation room, 103 McLaughlin College.
